In 2005, Kandie Stroud founded Stroud Communications, a subsidiary of Stroud and Associates LLC,  a communications and media strategy firm in Washington, DC. In her international Public Affairs Practice, Stroud has counseled a variety of public and private sector clients on strategic media and public campaign management. Stroud Communications has created or engaged in innovative media programs and highly targeted media campaigns since 2000 for the White House, the Democratic National Committee, the House and Senate, the Hillary Clinton for President campaign, the Mark Warner for President campaign, the Obama for President campaign, as well as creating and managing radio events for Families USA, the New Hampshire Primary, Campaign for America’s Future, the Democratic National Convention and the Obama inaugural.

Stroud served for 9 years as National Radio Communications Director for the Democratic National Committee (DNC), working to elect Democratic presidential and congressional candidates and developing radio and message strategy for the Democratic Party. Stroud brings more than two decades of communications experience on political campaigns and in national media.

Prior to joining the DNC, she was chief Diplomatic Correspondent for CNN, wrote for the New York Times and New York Times Magazine, and for 9 years was national correspondent for Women’s Wear Daily. Stroud served as Vice President of Talk Radio News Service, where she hosted award-winning political and foreign policy shows, as well as providing news coverage and interviews with major news figures to hundreds of radio stations nationwide. She also worked for 6 years as feature correspondent for WRC-TV, the NBC affiliate in Washington DC. She has produced award winning documentaries, appeared on network televison and radio shows including the Today Show, Nightline, the Charlie Rose show, the Ed Schultz Show, the Montel Williams Show, Lionel on Air America, and the Thom Hartmann show. Her articles have also appeared in the New York Times magazine, Newsweek and New York Magazine. Stroud worked in the campaigns of Barack Obama for President, Hillary Clinton for President, Mark Warner for President, John Kerry for President, Al Gore for President, and the Clinton-Gore campaigns of 1992 and 1996. As a reporter, Stroud covered every presidential campaign from 1968 to 1980. Stroud wrote a best-selling book on the presidential campaign of President Jimmy Carter published by William Morrow, entitled, How Jimmy Won. Kandie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Boston College and graduate degrees from the Sorbonne and University of Florence.
